PORT ALFRED – THE National Sea Rescue Institute – NSRI Port Alfred – gladly accepted a donation from Rotary Port Alfred on Wednesday.
Station Commander of NSRI Port Alfred, Juan Pretorius, received the donation of R11000 from the President of Rotary Port Alfred, Gunther Johannsen, and fellow Rotarians Dave Hawkins and Neville Henley.
The funds were raised during a golf day organised by Rotary in aid of the NSRI Port Alfred.
Pretorius said that they would use the funds towards obtaining a underwater digital camera to record all their rescue operation in realtime.
The camera would form an integral part of the new rescue craft, the Lotto Challenger.
Hawkins and Henley organised the golf day.
